2022 will be a pretty bright year for the movie industry. The reason is, that this year the Corona pandemic has begun to subside, cinemas have opened, and long-delayed movies have finally started to get release dates.
Of the many movies released in 2022, in this post, I will summarize the 10
most awaited movies for release in 2022. Instead of being curious, let's
just get into the list.
1. Black Adam
Black Adam is an antihero movie from the DCEU universe that fans have been
waiting for this year. With Dwayne Johnson playing the role of Black Adam,
the hype for this movie is getting bigger.
Planned for release on October 22nd, 2022, this movie which got directed by
Jaume Collet-Serra, will tell the main villain character from Shazam, who
made his debut in 2019.
What do you think this movie looks like? Because it tells an antihero
character, will this movie be made as dark and brutal as The Batman? Let's
just wait on October.
2. Lightyear
The Toy Story movie franchise already has its own place in the hearts of
fans, so it's interesting to see how the story continues from the
characters, especially for fans of the Buzz Lightyear character who is
certain to get his solo debut movie which will be released on June 17th.
Unlike the previous Toy Story movie, this movie will be fully focused on the
story of Buzz Lightyear, who becomes a Space Ranger. It seems that the
concept of a living doll will no longer apply in this movie because Buzz is
told to have his own world that is no longer related to Andy and the others.
Of course, many new things can be shown in the Lightyear movie, and who
knows after this movie is released, in the future, there will be other
movies that tell other Toy Story characters, who knows?
3. Avatar: The Way of Water
After 13 years of waiting, Avatar finally got a sequel that seems to be more
"incredible" than the first movie.
The thing that I really look forward to from this movie is actually only the
beauty of planet Pandora, and it turns out that this is displayed very
majestically in the trailer.
It's interesting to see how the story of this movie continues. Hopefully,
James Cameroon managed to execute it perfectly.
4. The Batman
No matter how many times the story of Bruce Wayne is repeated, the Batman
movie still remains the most anticipated by fans.
In this movie, Bruce Wayne has to deal with The Riddler who likes to kill
and gives a riddle to Batman.
Different from the previous Batman movies which put more emphasis on the
action part, The Batman will instead highlight the side of a detective from
Bruce Wayne who must solve all the puzzles made by The Riddler.
With so many positive reviews, many people think that The Batman is the most

5. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness
The concept of the multiverse in the MCU will finally be explored more
deeply in this movie, which was released last May.
Continuing the story from the WandaVision series, Doctor Strange must
traverse the confusing and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse
to face a mysterious new enemy.
There will be many new universes shown in this movie, and of course, you
should not miss this as MCU fans.
6. Thor: Love and Thunder
After retiring as a superhero, the story of the god of thunder continues to
search for what is called "inner peace".
It seems that in this movie the story will focus more on the conflict that
exists within Thor, about his personal life, his ambitions, and the inner
peace he wants after retiring as a superhero.
Thor Love and Thunder will feature villain Gorr the God Butcher, who will be
played by Christian Bale who once played Batman. It's really interesting to
see how the final execution of this movie will be, let's see it together in
July.
7. Minions: The Rise of Gru
For those Minions fans, you can't wait for the release of this movie. The
area that son is, that it's been 7 years since the previous Minions movie
was released, and of course Minions: The Rise of Gru will be an elixir of
nostalgia for fans, while still featuring Felonis Gru as the master of the
Minions.
Minions: The Rise of Gru tells the story of Felonis Gru's childhood who had
ambitions to become a villain, like Vicious 6 whom he idolized.
The movie is directed by Kyle Balda and is scheduled to be released on July
1st, 2022.
8. Jurassic World Dominion
Jurassic World Dominion is a closing movie of the Jurassic World trilogy
which seems to be the grandest and best movie of the two previous Jurassic
World movies
Continuing the story from the previous movie, Jurassic World Dominion
features the human world that has been mixed with the Jurassic world.
However, unfortunately, this condition can't be left too long, because the
existence of humans and Jurassic can't be in the same world.
So, will the ancient creatures in this movie be destroyed? Or even the
humans who lost and became extinct? Let's see later on June 10th, 2022.
9. Sonic the Hedgehog 2
The sequel to Sonic The Hedgehog will tell the story of Sonic's struggle to
face the threat of Dr. Robotnik who has managed to find his way back to
earth.
Interestingly, in this movie, there are 2 new characters from the Sonic
universe that appear, namely Knuckles and Tails which certainly make the
story feel more fun and look very interesting for you to watch.
Sonic the Hedgehog 2 has been released on April 8th, 2022, and I have to
admit that the appearance of Sonic and his friends this time looks much
better than in the first movie.
10. Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion
Pengabdi Setan 2 is a horror movie from Indonesia that I am really looking
forward to releasing this year. Still, with the same director, Joko Anwar,
Pengabdi Setan 2 seems to be taking its horror level to a higher level than
the first movie.
As for the synopsis itself, I still don't know it clearly, but from the
teaser, it's clear that this movie will make your hair stand on end.
Pengabdi Setan 2 is scheduled to be released on August 4th, 2022.
