Nobody (2021) Movie Review

Nobody Review

Nobody is an action film directed by a Russian director, Ilya Naishuller, and starring some well-known artists such as Bob Odenkirk, Christopher Lloyd, Aleksey Serebryakov, and Colin Salmon.

This film tells about the life of a man named Hutch Mansell (Bob Odendirk) whose daily life is filled with boring routines, working from morning to night, not close to his wife and children, carrying out routines like humans in general, until finally, a robber breaks into his house. allowed his true personality to emerge.

There is nothing that doesn't offer a heavy story, since the beginning this film has focused more on the badass action genre, seen with the main character Hutch Mansell who is told as a figure with a dark past, who even makes his opponents tremble before facing him. For example, during the scene where Hutch Mansell is in a tattoo shop seeking information about who robbed his home, a man who sees the tattoo on Hutch's hand seems to know he is a dangerous person and chooses to have it removed immediately.

At first glance, this film is indeed similar to John Wick, played by Keanu Reeves, but with a more relaxed story. As a viewer, I am quite comfortable watching this film from start to finish, because the storyline is very light, coupled with very interesting action scenes, making it appear as one of this year's action films that are worth watching. You. watch.

The quality of acting from Bob Odendrik also deserves appreciation, especially in his expression which truly depicts a head of a family who has resigned himself to his life, the look on his face shows that he is not in the spirit of being a father with a very boring routine. every day. Instead of being a bad father, he finally started to seek his pleasure which turned out to be a bigger problem.

Nothing seems to have told the audience from the start that the main character would be defeated. Therefore, this film does not highlight the story, but rather focuses on intense and badass action scenes, as I said at the beginning of this post.

The main character also seems to already know that he is stronger than his opponent, so when fighting he just looks relaxed, as if he already knows that in the end, he will win.

The antagonist character that appears is not on the same level as Hutch Mansell. Since knowing the information about his past, the antagonist seems to immediately give up, even his assistant immediately resigns because he knows that his opponent is not just anyone.

In my opinion, the unbalanced antagonist character is the only weakness of this film, thus making Nobody a film that is easily forgotten. Yes, what more could you want? The main character is made too overpowered, but the antagonist looks normal. If the main character is overpowered, the antagonist must also be overpowered, so that the final fight will be more exciting.

But considering that Nobody only sells action scenes, everything looks fine, this weakness seems to be covered by the epic action scene of Bob Odendirk annihilating all of his enemies.

SCORE

8/10

I give a score of 8 for Nobody thanks to the action scenes which are enjoyable to watch. The whole film is also made very fun, so it's nice to watch in your free time. This film also doesn't feature too many sadistic scenes, so this film is safe to watch with the family.

Overall, Nobody is a film that is worth it for you to watch, especially for those of you who are lovers of the action genre.
